Directions to “Il Poggiarello”
1. Motorway – Bolzano – Verona – Bologna – Firenze.
When you reach Florence get off at the exit Firenze/Scandicci. After the pay-toll follow the highway directed to Pisa /Livorno. Leave the road at the exit Empoli Ovest/Ponte ad Elsa. Shortly after you will reach the main road where you have to turn left following the direction to Siena. Turn left at the signpost to Montaione before entering the town Castelfiorentino. Follow the ring road until you see the signpost to Montaione on the right. Continue through the little town of Montaione, and follow the road through the village of Mura until you reach a small bridge. Take the left turn immediately after the bridge and continue through the next tiny village of Alberi. The road will then start to climb up and you will. go through two sharp bends, after which you will see “Il Poggiarello” on your left at the top of a small hill.
(Approx. 52 km from Firenze/Signa to Montaione, 8 km from Castelfiorentino to Montaione and 8 km from Montaione to “Il Poggiarello”.)
2. From Milano – Motorway Milano-Piacenza-Parma-La Spezia-Viareggio-Livorno/Pisa.
Leave the motorway at Pisa Centro and take the Pisa-Firenze highway. Leave the highway (after about 42 km) and take a right turn when you see the signpost to San Miniato. Shortly afterwards you will arrive at a roundabout. Continue straight through (2nd exit) until you arrive at a T-Junction. Turn right and proceed along the road to Pontedera. You are now on the main road No. 67 (Empoli-Pisa). Turn left after about 1 km and follow the direction San Miniato. Drive for about 2 km when you will come to a STOP sign where you have to turn sharp right. You will see the signpost Montaione after another 2 km where you have to turn left. Continue for approximately. 3 km until you come to another STOP sign. where you will need to turn left and follow the signs to Montaione/Corazzano. You will pass the village of Corazzano and proceed along the same road for 8.6 km until you reach the junction Montaione/Sughera. Do not take the road to Montaione at this point. Instead, take the road to Sughera which is straight ahead. You will soon reach the little village of Alberi, after which the road starts to climb up. Proceed through two sharp bends and you will see “Il Poggiarello” on your left, at the top of a small hill (after 2.5 km from the junction Montaione/Sughera).

3. From Pisa Airport
Take the highway Pisa/Firenze and follow directions given at (2) above.
4. From Florence Airport
Leave the airport and take the first turn on your right. (This is the road which connects Florence Centre with the motorway A 1). You will arrive at the green signpost to the motorway A 1 on your right after a few kilometres. Enter the motorway when you have gone through the Motorway Toll Gate, and proceed in direction of Roma. Leave the motorway at Firenze/Signa after about 8 km, pay the toll and enter the highway Pisa/Livorno. Then follow the directions given at (1) above.
